In my second historical romance from Pinnacle's Denise Little Presents line, a powerful Angle chieftain learns that his one true love may be his greatest enemy. From Saxon Britain comes a bittersweet tale of young love, and renewed romance - Romeo & Juliet meets King Arthur. As a small point of interest, Flights of Angels was originally titled The Guise of Angels, but someone thought I was speaking of blond guys in Malibu - hence, the title change. |

I wrote Part One of this story in six days - I was totally obsessed & spellbound. I lived on tea & peanut butter. OK, I always live on tea & peanut butter, but this time, it was stronger tea. It was magical, & remains among my favorite scenes. Another bit of thrilling trivia - Hengist's father is called Edwy the Fair, thanks to my fascination for a real-life Saxon king, Edwy the Fair, great grandson of Aelfred the Great. The real Edwy appeared in my novella, The Shadow King, in Leisure's halloween anthology, Trick or Treat, where the ghost king is determined to win back his throne. The facts in the story are accurate, as is information about his wife, and their enemies. I really love Saxons. (Perhaps because that's my own heritage, & possibly because they remind me of the Rohirrim in Lord of the Rings.) |
