Published in April, 97, Molly in the Middle is a fun-filled historical romance set in Scotland from Leisure books. A Border Collie who hates sheep, a secretive American turned Scottish laird, and a shepherdess who knows nothing about sheep meet on a narrow road which can only lead to trouble, true love, and fun. |

Molly in the Middle launches Leisure's new line 'It's a dog's life,' a series which features a dog character. These stories are set in all time periods, touching and humorous, with insights only canines can produce. Molly, for one, has a lot more on her agenda than Lassie. |

I'm really excited about this book - Set in Victorian Scotland, it's funny and unique. I've always loved doing supporting characters. I don't want them to be flat - I want them as unique & special as the leads. This time, I've gotten to go a little farther. My supporting characters start off with a VERY non-stereotypical Border Collie. If you've seen the movie BABE, have a clear image of what a Border Collie is supposed to be, then take your imagination to the far extreme, & you'll have Molly. Both Nathan and Molly are 'against type,' which for me is the most enjoyable story to write. Molly wouldn't be complete without a nemesis, and she gets two worthy adversaries in this book. A Highland Blackface ewe named Blossom, and a menacing Pomeranian named Muffin. The males in the story are perhaps more gentlemanly - the ram, Huntley, & the dutiful Border Collie, Flip, hold up their end of their breeds with more dignity than the powerhouse females. |

I'm proud to report that Harriet Klausner has given Molly a 5* review, about which I am walking on air. Thank you, Harriet!!!! |
